Situated in a listed building on the High Street it is owned and run by a friendly husband and wife team who have a passion for books and pride themselves on delivering excellent customer service.
A wide range of titles are available from exciting new reads to timeless classics. Tantalize your tastebuds in the Cookery section, relive the past in History or find something amazing for hungry young minds in the Children's area.
Stuck for ideas? Then feel free to ask for recommendations and advice. Alternatively, if you would like to let someone choose for themselves then we sell The Hungerford Bookshop vouchers. Unlike National Book Tokens they can be used to buy second-hand books as well as gifts - though we do stock National tokens too!
If you can't find exactly what you want on the day most books can be ordered, and will often arrive the next day. Books can be posted out, or, if you live within a five mile radius can be delivered straight to your door!
If it is second-hand titles that are of interest then The Hungerford Bookshop has literally thousands of high quality volumes downstairs. Relax in an armchair and browse at leisure.
You can also find a variety of gifts and stationery at the shop including Penguin mugs, tea-towels and pencils, moleskine notebooks and Dodo pads. We even sell globes and board games!
