Design & Validation

The Hungerford Bookshop website was designed by Paul Hockett/Monkey In Fez Studios. Hosting is provided by Trase UK Ltd. Content management for the News & Reviews pages is provided by the WordPress blog engine. All other content is © The Hungerford Bookshop 2006.

This site uses XHTML 1.0 (transitional) markup with CSS for presentaion and PHP for server-side scripting. All pages validate with the relevant W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) guidelines.

Accessibility

This site has been designed with accessibility in mind and, where applicable, follows the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) WAI guidelines, including:

  • Use of relative text sizes.
  • Use of appropriate markup and CSS - rather than images/tables - for presentation.
  • Use of scripting for added functionality only, all content is still accessible with scripting turned off.
  • Alternate text provided for images.
  • Consistent use of navigation controls and links including display style, placement on the page and context.
  • Hotkeys for navigation menu.
